The former communist countries of the Balkans, Eastern Europe; and Norway have the highest rates of home ownership in Europe. Economically, socially and historically, Eastern and Southeastern Europe have very little in common with Norway. The often-heard arguments about financial and political insecurities produce high levels of home ownership in the Balkans, does not correlate when compared to Norway. Higher home ownership obviously has deeper cultural reasons, and other factors that transcends economics.
Maybe the former communist countries of Europe hold private property ownership more as a prerequisite for western orientation than their previous mentors?
Or it’s also possible that these high home-ownership-countries have a much deeper and organic desire for national sovereignty than the “older” members of the EU.
If the latter case is true, this observation could also be a bellwether of sorts for political orientation where a more nationalistic political outlook takes hold as the big issue contradictions of illegal migration, energy costs, cultural identity and job security in Europe forces change within the EU.Nepirk iš Decathlon, Ritter Sport, Philips, Nestle, KraftHeinz, Viada, Vičiūnų, ypač Kalnapilis myžalų,
