Tallinn skyline vs. Vilnius skyline

@Ch1le: You mask the comparison of Vilnius skyline by comparing only the NMC with Tallinn's one. So, if we compare only the "New City Centres", then, ofcourse, Tallin wins by far. But we're talking about the skyline of VILNIUS, not the NMC itself. In that case, Vilnius wins - by far, either.

In any case I think that skyline of Tallinn will be better in the future atleast. Vilnius has many projects but most of them are on hold and they are usually fat and low.

Well, in my opinion quality is better than quantity. But yes, most of Vilnius proposed highrise projects doesn't distinguish nor one, nor another I like only render of "Lietuvos Telekomas" building in NCC and SBA Tower, which is quite "small" More buildings like "Vilniaus vartai" in such places and new face of Vilnius is doomed

Its just that IMO they have no real impact to Tallinn nor to Vilnius.
Quality over quantaty, well, by price comparison the skyscrapers in Tallinn's main cluster all cost more.
Skyline of Tallinn includes the main skyline and two secundary skylines plus the Old town skyline, which is alot higher than Vilnius old town skyline

Secondary clusters obviously have influence to whole skyline. I think I've already posted photo which shows it quite clearly. Instead of boasting about bigger number of secondary clusters, I suggest you to take some photos of those secondary clusters in Tallinn and post them here. Then we'll see. About prices - there were discussions before in SSC and it's funny how Vilnius gates alone costs more than these two towers in Tallinn. Though Vilnius gates does not influence main skyline view very much.

No real impact? If you mean tall commies (like the NMC one), then I agree there's no real impact. But if you mean, that Bussiness triangle, Helios, Hanner, Vilnius Gates and so on, does not impact the skyline of Vilnius, I can only say - that is ridiculous. That leads to conclusion - you compare only the "NCC's" skyline of Vilnius and Tallinn, not the city itself. So yes, in this case - I agree. Tallinn's NCC looks much better. But if CITY vs. CITY skyline - then, please, look at Romas picture and then post the similar of Tallinn's. Then we can compare. Your speeches about the "second clusters", that are "more expensive" and etc. than Vilnius one's, tells me nothing. Pics, not words, please.

We are comparing skylines of Vilnius and Tallinn not only NCC with center of Tallinn.

where is that second cluster in Tallinn? As i heard from my cousin (she is living about three years in Tallinn) there is no such as Vilnius has. I gave her this thread to read so she laughfed and said that that new city center which is in all these photos is the place there only wind is raging She had in mind that there alomoust aren't any people, because of the strong winds that are very often in Tallin and in such place they are more stronger. Something like it we coud say about our NCC, but for example BCC - there is more compressed cluster and we couldn't say the same about that.
Ofcourse there is not only the wind, but it shows us that if we speak about some highrise clusters in Vilnius or Tallin we should have in mind not only HOW it looks but also his part in citys life. And ofcourse urbanistic features.

Now thats just silly. Tallinn's city skyline is right in the middle of the city, it developed naturally in a place where land prices were already high, IN THE MIDDLE. The case is different for Vilnius, so naturally Tallinn's city centre is much more urban and lively!

NCC in Vilnius is in the very center of Vilnius too and even now there usually are quite many people. About urbanity - you are right, NCC is not so urban today, it needs more developments.

and how about other clusters that tallin "has"? Even if it's in the middle of the city it's not in the old town where all life going on in Tallinn so i can't imagine how it is urban and lively. There should be places to go and to do something. For example we have "Europa" shop.

Well, you base your assumption on the lil tour I gave you of the city centre, though, i only took you to the "city" and just a part of the eastern downtown, the denser and bigger Western downtown we totally missed, just like Liivalaia str business skyline etc
@Marius The old town is just the place where the tourist fueled business and hustle and bustle is going on, most Tallinners act in the city centre
And lol, this is just funny, you are just putting NCC ahead because it has 1 shop, right, well Tallinn's city centre has ALOT more than 1 shop

still, i dont have any pics of the secondary clusters atm, but i will take some as soon as i get some free time
