Po mėnesio pertraukos ir vėl atsidarau Miestus ir architektūrą. Daug čia naujovių. Pirmajame puslapyje labai patiko užrašai įvairiom kalbom. Šaunuolis Mantaz! Kaip šioks toks Latvijos žinovas, vis dėlto norėčiau pataisyti vieną vietą Infrastruktūra un sajūsma (sajūsma reiškia susižavėjimą) pakeisčiau Infrastruktūra un satiksme. Nors ši svetainė iš tikrųjų verta sajūsmos.
O dabar prie temos. Ir vėl padariau Liepojos nuotraukų. Oras nebuvo idealus. Ir vėl darbo reikalais atvykau, fotografavau beveik bėgte.
Iš geležinkelio (autobusų) stoties į centrą ėjau pėsčiomis. Ir štai ką mačiau.

Every day in school we were running to this small pub to eat "ceburekai" (I am from Liepaja myself). My brother with his family lives some 200 m from this place now.
Now they have upgraded to "cepelinai" I see
Liepaja has got enormous wealth of architecture... but the city was extremely poor in 1990ies. Only now it slowly becomes rich. It will take billions to get back the beauty of Liepaja

Btw. Now, whel Liepaja becomes richer, it invests a lot more in reconstruction. In 2006 they promise to invest 50 mio EUR in reconstruction.

My childhood district. Very poor part of city north from railway station. But it has its own beauty.
Sea cathedral in Karosta. This district was closed for Latvians until 1993. When it was opened… city discovered that it has increased per 30% but those 30% were in terrible condition. Since then approximately 80 mio EUR have been invested in karosta but may be billion is needed to make it civilised. Sea Cathedral was among the first to be reconstructed.
You can look at www.karosta.lv – this is large project to involve Russian youth from Karosta in the life of Latvia – city offers a lot of useful things to do to them – to build, renovate, create art, theater etc. In this way we hope that Karosta will become true part of Liepaja.

Before the war Liepaja had 6 tram lines. Before 1913 there were living 115 000 people. In 1920 - only 40 000. In 1939 - 110 000 people. Now - only 89 000.
