pzlotnik, what about the other infrastructure projects in Poznan, like roads, railway?
OK, this thread is for city transport, but buses, trains and trams use also infrastructure.

The most important is road network surrounding Poznań.

A2 Highway exists on eastern and wetern direction form Poznań. Already is being built section between Nowy Tomyśl (A2 Poznań - Nowy Tomyśl already exists 56 km) and German border in Świecko -> total lenght 105 km. Construction started in August 2009 and highway will be opened in Nov 2011.

Railway station will be modernized. It should be done before Euro 2012, but in my opinion the delay is too big to finalize construction on time. This is visualisation of new communication center in Poznań (Railway and Bus station with hotels, retail center and office space). Railway station will be constucted first. Trigranit Development was chosen to build this:

But it will be build until 2014 for sure.

The investment will transform the current site's main railway station hub integrating buses, trains and trams, including Poznań Fast Tram. In addition to the station there will also be new areas for passengers, including parking areas, shopping and entertainment. Poznań railway junction modernization

As I mentioned before (and posted some photos) Poznań railway junction has lately been modernized.

The project included upgrading 21-kilometer section of the station by Swarzedz Antoninek Poznan, Poznan East Garbary Poznan, Poznan Glowny, Poznan Górczyn to stop a person Poznan Junikowo.

                      Map of modernization:

                      Pink coloured line was modernized.

The scope of the modernization of the line included:

                      * Modernization of signaling equipment (SCR)
                      * Modernization of railroad,
                      * Modernization of the rail surface and substructure,
                      * Modernization of the electricity supply and catenary,
                      * Modernization of facilities engineering and engineering.

Completed the modernization of Poznan node. The result is: greater bandwidth and improve security line train. Movement is managed by the Local Computer Control Center (LCS).

                      Local Computer Control Center (LCS)

In Poznan, ended one of the biggest investments in railway networks in post-war Poland - Poznan junction modernization (PWk) line E20 from Swarzędz in Poznan Junikowo (23 km). Its total cost was around 105 million euros, of which 75 per cent. was a co-financing from the Cohesion Fund, the rest came from the state budget. The task was a huge challenge for the railroad, which on the one hand limited short period of its implementation, on the other hand - the need to maintain the movement of trains during the exercise works. And yet the Poznan Central each day passes more than half a thousand trains! Railway parcel regularly informs readers about the course of modernization. Recall, therefore, only briefly, that the investment is divided into 4 contracts. The first concerned the design and construction of a signaling system. The second contract was divided into three flights: Flight A - pavement and substructure works, bridges and viaducts, Flight B - implementing a system for power and traction network, flight C - Construction of two-level crossings in Swarzedz. The third contract involved the preparation of tender documentation and design, and the fourth included the supervision of investments, namely the Project Engineer. The work undertaken in June 2006 and was completed in January 2009, modernized the following infrastructure: signaling (SRK), track layout, surface and substructure railway, electricity supply and rail network, engineering and facilities engineering.

                      Wstrzelić the gap

The most serious and also very complicated task was the modernization development and launch of the Local Control Center. With this system, orderlies traffic, instead of adjusting several posts, work in one LCS and hence control the traffic on the six stations modernized node.
                      - Liquidated possessing signal towers and regulations. Setting and a total of 16 posts have replaced the control center, which is located about half a kilometer from the main building of the station poznan - tells SIEWIERA Gregory, Deputy General Director of Regional Branch of PKP Polish Railway Lines SA in Poznan. The first connection of signaling equipment for the new control center was carried out at the end of November 2007, launched from the Poznan Central Station. This pioneering operation has involved a number of problems ... and without delays in train traffic. Railwaymen quickly learned from their mistakes and connecting the next station been more efficient. Sometimes, however, that the team several times to take the trouble to switch devices, such as Swarzedz, where he experienced the difficulties of matching systems. LCS arose gradually, initially consisted of experts from the track works, then installed the device srk and only at the end of the device connected to the LCS srk. Connecting the last station poznan Górczyn was 16 January 2009, control is now in full with the LCS, but there are also alternative security emergency.
                      - At any time, if necessary, for example, if the severed cables and the DPP was not possible to control the traffic, we are able to move the motion control of the DPP to one of three stations: Swarzedz, Poznan and Poznan Górczyn East - provides Breschan Arnold, head of the modernization contract Poznan railway junction in the Regional Branch of PKP PLK SA in Poznan. Turning next to the DPP at the station next to the train speeding out of the question. Railwaymen well nagłowili therefore, to find a break in kursowaniu trains. The first time "wstrzelili a" two-hour gap in the night, then searched the rest of the day.

Placed 80.5 kilometers of new rail

                      LCS is safe

Difficulties in mounting the DPP is not limited to the fight against time. Tender for the system for signaling won two different companies offering two separate systems. These systems at some point had to be combined into a single software, operating reliably and without complaint, because it comes to human safety. Swarzedz stations, Poznan East Garbary Poznan, Poznan Antoninek installed software Ebilock Bombardier 950, while in Poznan and Poznan main Górczynie - Program ESTW L90 5 Thales. From the outset there were concerns that the system will cooperated. It turned out that work together perfectly. Railwaymen emphasize that success is the agreement the two companies that have aligned the two systems so that they are compatible. Investment in the railway ran from the Poznan branch of the Regional PLK, but also participated in the railway employees of the establishments. - I want to emphasize the contribution of several dozen workers, mostly from the Poznań Department of Railways PKP PLK SA and the Green Mountains, who in addition to their regular duties, worked with przełączeniach and withdrawals. It happened that, in parallel to work 2 - 3 reception committees. We owe the success of this task and colleagues of life - stresses the director SIEWIERA. Currently, the operation of the modernized infrastructure is the responsibility of the Department of Railways in Poznan. Poznan LCS is a good starting point - the future is likely to evolve into the Regional Control Center. For future investments - modernization of the E 59 (Wroclaw - Poznan - Szczecin) and E 20/CE 20 (Warsaw - Rzepin) - the next station will be connected to the center, it is possible to connect an already existing VCT in Opalenica. Benefit from the operation of modern LCS, in addition to ensure the full safety of trains, is visible to the naked eye. Just watch the trains at the station, when one enters the second immediately departs in the opposite direction. Once, it took several minutes because of traffic officer on duty had to confirm the arrival of the train and ordered a route for the moving vehicle, etc. Today, the movement of trains is observed on the monitor screen, and computer controlled devices.

                      One traction substation
In Poznan, for years there were problems with insufficient power. Poznan Central Station had the old distribution system, based on pre-war even the power supply with a voltage of 6 / 0, 4 kV, consisting of 8 stations entered the main transformer station, distribution system. Modernization of the Poznan node was an excellent opportunity to solve the problem. In place of the existing substation created one, and the old power system has been replaced new. Switching to the new system took place at the turn of 2008/2009, was a long and complicated process.
                      - The reconstruction of Poznan node eliminating the old substation was designed with the whole power supply system and construction of a new distribution system supplied from the MV line needs no traction voltage of 15 kV. The project entered the construction of a new traction substations Poznan Glowny, with a capacity of 5.6 MW of connectivity as an energy source for the system SN - Breschan Arnold explains.
                      - Equipment prepared at the 9.5 MW of power, thinking also about ensuring
sufficient power supply to the line E 59 after its modernization. MV distribution system in Poznan Central Station will be powered from 3 sources: Traction substations (PT) Poznan Glowny, PT and PT Swarzedz Rudnicze connected by a line needs no traction - he says. A director Gregory SIEWIERA adds: - We had big problems with the rip in the company ENEA, it is true "Peelka" was an investor, but were involved in the task of ENEA and PKP Power. Besides the difficulties experienced in bringing the power of the GPZ Jezyce (Point Power Station), as Poznan Municipal Roads allow for the closure Grunwaldzka street only in the summer and only then we begin to work. However poradziliśmy itself, and a new substation is working, but at the same time the inhabitants of Poznan have not seen any major problems. Works were completed in Poznan node. As after every large investment, you must still clean up. Leads to finishing works and okołotorowe, removes the old foundations, paints a catenary structures, removes the defects identified in withdrawals, settlement of investment continues.

                      Overpass on Zawadach
Construction of the new viaduct, after which the tracks run in Poznan node, coincided with the modernization PWk. Overpass is a separate investment made by the Municipal Roads in Poznan. However, since the facility was built, the railway wanted to minimize the impact of work on the viaduct for the modernization of the node and rip works with both investment that then no longer interfere with the upgraded rail infrastructure.
                      - We wanted that the work on the viaduct in as little as reflected in the works on the node. Partially succeeded, at the time that we stop the movement of trains on track 1, ZDM has built part of the viaduct. Unfortunately, the earlier road builders have not used the time for the closing track No 2 Eventually we managed to communicate, not to destroy them, and our work - the director explains SIEWIERA. The ZDM set the deadline for the completion of investments at 15 February. Then there was a twin-track the restoration of traffic on the section from east to Poznan Poznan Square. Since then, the trains - as planned - no longer drive a roundabout way.

Gregory SIEWIERA, Deputy Director-General of PKP PLK SA Regional Branch in Poznań concludes:
                      - Modernization of the Poznan node is the first of this type of investment that we made on such a large area in such a short period of time. In addition to the initial perturbations go without major disruption to travelers. Success was through the carriers, who kept publishing timetable prepared for each stage of construction, information was available in the media, hangs posters, updated online schedules.

I want to emphasize the role Ekspozytury Rail Traffic Management in developing an operational timetables and directing train movement. We are thankful to ex-Rolling Stock Factory in Poznan, who patiently endured the inconvenience, what he zaserwowaliśmy. I mean the temporary exclusion of a point rewidenckiego to review current electric locomotives. Investment we have closed on time, without major disruption, thanks to his personal commitment and cooperation of colleagues from different railway companies. Thank you for your patience and passengers to understand that treated the issue of modernization of Poznan node. Highly appreciate the kindness of the media on this issue.

For Euro 2012 we will have a new station

                        http://poznan.gazeta.pl/poznan/1,36001,7502111.html

For Euro 2012 we will have a new station

                        - At 99 percent on the Euro 2012 the new station will be ready - he says, "Gazeta" Grzegorz Tomaszewski, Project Director in the Office of Strategic Real Estate PKP.

MPK bus drives up the street. Railway station, bus route extended PST seventh on the platform, the taxi "throws" of customers on the platform of the bridge linking Dworcowy and passengers from the coach bus shedding on one of the 16 posts at the new terminal to the station - the building with a semicircular glass roof. A driver? Those are no problem parking space in off-Freight in the new street leading to the huge car park behind the station.

Tickets can be purchased at one of 10 cash or tickets machines. How do you still have time to train, look at the small shopping gallery, which is located under one roof, with part of passengers.

Hall station and shops, is located at the bridge Dworcowego, so the platform must exit escalator. And there, surprise - a brand new elevated platform, which is easier to board a train, aesthetic shelters, benches. And despite the torrential rain in the tunnel connecting the platforms has finally puddles, because the railway podłączyli rainwater to drain the Hetmańska.

Oh, to think that two years ago it all looked like ... Well, let's say otherwise. And they were afraid that, at the Euro najemy to shame before the guests from abroad. And here please - railroad promised that by 1 April 2012 will be a new station. And it is.

Railway Station: The Euros have time

Enough of these dreams? What dreams! - At 99 percent on the Euro 2012 the new station will be ready - he says, "Gazeta" Grzegorz Tomaszewski, Project Director in the Office of Strategic Real Estate PKP. - I know that many people have already placed a cross at the Poznan railroad station, because really the whole selection process took a long time investor. The situation is complicated, however, the crisis on the real estate market, the company had problems in providing the financing - explains.

No More delays . Railwaymen assume that in early February to sign a contract with a company TriGranit, which will build the new station. Railway tie with the investor company, which raises land. TriGranit will put up the money. And it is considerable. Has built on its cost of building the railway station, bus terminal, parking and new access roads to the facility.

Top investment - this year, the time put into service - April 2012. The investor will have 14 months to build, excluding the winter. Cost? 40 million EUR. And this is just the beginning, because eventually (after the Euro), the gallery business grows to the parameters of a large shopping mall, and on the west side office grow, investment in railway land will be worth even 170 million EUR.

                        Old for the demolition

What happens to the building of the current station? Until the launch of a new anything. UEFA Euro could serve as a place where fans will be gathered. Later be demolished. - It is covered by the conservator's protection, but not placed on the register of monuments. We agree conservator for demolition after the previously detailed photographic documentation - says Tomaszewski.

In place of the old station is eventually built the hotel. And before him, rather than today's car park, as requested by the Historic Preservation will be square with greenery, MPK bus stop and driveway for the hotel guests.

                        Platforms to be restored

Although the first serious work on the new station we will have to wait until the second half of the year, they now seem to be the first Movie change. Poznań has 15 such railbuses serving for regional lines (route not longer than 60 km). Maximum speed is 120 km/h. All produced in Poland by ZNTK Poznań or PESA Bydgoszcz.
I would like if Poznan bought such trains for metro connections: (Warsaw has just bouhgt 4 such trains).

They are made in Poland by Newwag : http://www.newag.pl/index.php?a=ofer...=53&opcja=show

Polish PESA makes also interesting trains:

Tram on Franowo: we have millions, do not have time

As I posted in this thread that new line from Poznań center to Rataje commieblock district was built in 2007 and went into operation form september 2007. This line will be extended to IKEA megastore.:

                            Green - existing line
Orange - new line (opening 2012)

Company Infrastructure Poznan Euro 2012 on Tuesday (OCt. 2009) signed a contract for the design of the new tram route to Franowo. I will keep our fingers crossed that the selected firm as soon as possible done its job. Because otherwise it will be difficult to build a track for Euro 2012.
The game is played for high stakes. It is about an investment worth around 310 million PLN (260 million LIT), for which we have provided 108 million PLN of EU funding .

IEP 2012 the company depends on the time of at least two reasons. First, he wants to hurry MPK, which for several months designing the Franowie tram depot. The point is that both tracks and the depot was built at the same time. Secondly, if the project route earlier uprising, the chances that its construction has started for next year. And that's really the last bell if you want to ride the tram Franowo before Euro 2012. Contractor and will remain so because only a few months to build. - We have no choice, the route must be ready in the first quarter of 2012 - says Christina Rakowska, vice president of the company's infrastructure Poznan Euro 2012, which is responsible for several investments in European Football championships. To shorten up the preparations for the investment of the designer obarczono also the duty to obtain a building permit.
But there is a carrot. - Designers are in accordance with the agreement of 12 months for the execution of documentation, but we want to have time to do it earlier - he says Rakowska. - The incentive is a bonus in the form of 6 percent. contract value for each month of speed - he adds. The contract is valued at 3.26 million zł, so the designers had to comply with duties such as 2 months faster, then their account would affect nearly 400 thousand. zł more. The premium powalczy selected in the tender a consortium of leading design offices, PXM company from Cracow at the head.

The route to Franowo be a de facto extension built two years ago, a new route across the bridge St. Roh to Rataje. The construction of a section of track with a loop on the person. Lech Franowo district residents to settlements on the outskirts Rataj waiting for years. The planned route is approximately 2.5 km of track that will run an existing tunnel under the street. Chartowo and then in the trench along the street. Piasnickie shopping center in the direction of the M1. Another tram tunnel driven into the street. KURLANDZKA and the IKEA store will go up to the surface. Continue between the buildings, IKEA and M1 arrives at KP's rear areas, where the emergence of the loop and the tram depot parking places for 100 trams. On the new route created three pairs of stops: at the height of the person ryneczku. Rusa, the Kurlandzka and between IKEA and the M1.

Poznań will start to change for new ones "old" low floor buses bought 10 - 12 years ago...(MAN and Neoplan) after delivering new 75 buses. In 2009 30 new buses were bought and 75 new will be delivered in 2010 - 2011 (the contract I wrote about above).

The best is that all new buses and trams that are being delivered to Poznań form 2008 are equipped in air conditioning system.
